The South Bohemian Mothers Association, citizen association (Sdružení Jihočeské matky, o. s.) was founded in 1991 in České Budějovice and was officially registered in 1992. Association´s mission is to protect nature and landscape. The association promotes an alternative, environmentally conservative lifestyle and sustainable development. Also support those revivals of public attitudes and trends of societal evolution that can establish the conditions for a life of health and freedom. Association´s main task is to put an end to risk technologies, especially nuclear power plants and another risk enterprises. Association supports the enforcement of alternative methods of acquiring energy and limiting of the excessive consumption of energy by looking for ways of saving it. The association organizes travelling exhibition on subject alternatve sources of energy and saving energy. Association occasionally organizes lectures at schools, seminars, konferences and puiblic discussions. The association systematically participates in administrative proceedings in the South Bohemian region concerning projects that have an impact on the environment and advices citizens how to proceed in specific cases cocncerning protection of environment. Association regularly reminds Chernobyl disaster.
